Question for matched-grip players: When I bring my sticks in (from playing position), my hands get in the way of the sticks, and they make a "clicky", un-clean noise when they come together. Any pointers on how to prevent this, and how to bring them in with a sharp, quiet motion?

It's okay if they come in all noisy, it'll almost naturally happen. I ALMOST don't like it when they come in quiet...because I feel it wasn't a good sticks-in.

Either way is fine the way I/I've see/seen it.

The noise is fine to make, as long as it's clean. As in, your timing is right. For instance, you're playing something, you end that peice, and bring your sticks in a count later. As long as you're on the downbeat, it will sound just fine.

For examples, check out BD's battery.

That makes sense, I guess. Gives a nice aggressive vibe, as long as itīs clean with the rest of the line. However, I still think the motion itself is kind of awkward. Oh well!

For the hands getting in the way I would practice the motion over and over again making sure your left hand opens up to let in the stick and closes over it as quickly as possible but not affecting the time of the click(which by the way is a good thing since it shows that your line has a unison interpretation of the quarter note). You could try just playing a bar of eighth notes and then doing the sticks in to practice.
