"that's a drop"

every time some1 dropped a stick or whatever either another drummer or our director would shout it, it carried on from marching band into concert band.

worst drop ever was a combo of a knocked-over susp. cymbal and falling temple blocks... we counted it as 15

I use, "Feel free to play clean", or "Feel free to play in time" after something chows terribly.

"Turn down the suck, turn up the sweet", works too.

I've always enjoyed the shoes in a dryer reference when a bass part goes badly.

"Tasty rolls, with creeeeeeamy diddles" for when rolls are, um, tasty and sweet.

I HATE the shoes in a dryer reference. It's the stock comment for a bad bassline. Come up with something creative!

"Ok, we're going to change that part, tenors. We're going to take the rims out."

"You need to hit that drum like it's a baby seal with beautiful brown eyes"

OK, I have several:

"Gosh, (insert name), go read some books!"
"Why?" (pronounced "vie")
"Como estas en la biblioteca?"
"Por que es muy fiesta" (yes, it's straight off of Red vs. Blue)
"'Drumline, that is totally innapropriate. Go run a lap.'"
"Bananas"
"the banana flies at midnight"
"Jacob, just shut up!"
"You know what would be cool/funny/really funny?"
"Trogdor!!!"
"It's me, Snitches!"
"rub it on your body like body shop lotion!"
"don't forget to rub/kiss Ken Swizzle for good luck!" (BTW, Ken Swizzle is the D-Line pet rubber duck.)
And, of course, "that's what she said."

But what is really funny is when two of our D-Line members, M.A. and J.L. do their pep talks to the whole band on saturday mornings before rehearsal. I'll state their very first one:

MA: So, JL and I got to talking, and then we got to thinking, which is weird. Marching band is kind of like eating a cinnamon roll. There's that outer burnt part that you have to eat, and it doesn't taste really good; that's kind of like the practices.
JL: But then you get to the gooey, doughy center, and it tastes so good, and in the end, it makes it all worthwhile; that's kind of like the competitions.
MA: So let's go out there and "eat some cinnamon rolls!!!!"

"HYPE THE CHICKEN" "HYPE THE PENGUIN" "HYPE THE POOP" (don't ask) and our instructor always yells before a show (and its always on the judges tape) "COME GEEEET SOOOOME!!!" Makes me laugh every time. O and theres...TENOR RAPE!!! (yet again don't ask...kind self explanatory.)

This one came from my instructor:
"Smack it with a tight choke"
(referring to a cymbal choke of course!)

He also tends to quote South Park to us, sometimes even when the head director is speaking, in the form of "Timmay!" and that always cracks us up. And there's the occasional Beavis and Butthead impersonation.
