So I recently bought the moongel workout pad (14 inches)
but I didn't read the product description well, so I did not notice it does not come with a wooden base. Oh well, I'm sure I can put it flat on something and it's all good right?

My question is that the moongel pad is wrapped in a plastic covering. I'm not sure if this plastic wrapping is from packaging or is it meant to protect the pad from collecting dirt/or something like that?

It stays on, and it's there for good. By the way, I've had the problem of the pad coming out of the base itself. Not a real problem, but just so you know, it happens. Just place it back in when if it pops out a little.

I think you should keep the platic on, because they have practice moongel practice pads at the music store that I take lessons at, and they have plastic over it.

All it feels like is playing on a pillow.... sorta

Its just a practice pad with absolutley no rebound. It does have a 'gelly' feel to it.

Its great to work your chops w. but not for actual playing

I have the 14 inch one. It's a different feel for a practice pad and, depending on what kind of surface you have it on, the rebound is strange.

He says that with good reason. The rebound on the pad makes you change the way you hold and play with the stick doing doubles and diddles.

Does anyone have a better picture of one? 'Cause all I can find is that one with the bead touching it and showing how soft it is. I want a pic of the whole thing. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. Anyone got one?

That sounds trippy.

Is it like, floppy? Can you just stick it on a table and go?
