Are you talking about JED?? snugglebunny of ppl know that exercise cus its pretty stock, but u can switch a TON of rudiments in and out of it. Its got infinite possibilities for fun times on the bus just paddin out.

for those who dont know it, its just

Flam accent, Flam accent, two 8th note flams, repeat those 3 things, then 4 flam accents and 4 8th note flams, then repeat the 2 flam accents 2 8th notes twice, an the last part is 4 flam accents and 8 8th note flams.

Switch the rudiments in on the 8th notes or the tripets.

Interesting... I have always known that exercise as 'mission', because it sounds like mission impossible (5/4 time)

That sounds like a really cool exercise! I'm going to have to write than down into Finale and print it for my percussion section,

snarescience, the one you're talking about, in so. cal at least, is commonly known as "chug" or "chucky", depending on who the person teaching it is.

as for "jedi knight", it's a ram that pete sapadin wrote that is played by the groups he works with. definitely fun to play, but takes a good music reader with a good interp. and understanding of modulation.

Tom Float called it "Chugga-Da" in his old Blue Devil lines.

Jeff Queen goes into an in-depth explication of it in his book and DVD.

Wow, just registered today and you're already trying to break the rules you agreed to follow.

You have not been a member long enough, nor have you reached the appropriate rank to be able to request music.

Consider this your first last and only warning.
