I'll tell you what... it wasn't a DCI snare individual caliber solo, but there was some sick stuff in there. It started off sort of eh, but some of the fluidity with the sticks was very impressive. I really like the stick twirl around his arm after his last 3 rim shots. I'm not sure how he did it, but it was pretty cool.

That was a tight solo. If you look to the right on youtube after you click that link you will see a great tenor solo plus a few full drumline videos that are good too.

Yeah it definitely wasn't the best I've seen, but I like the way it was structured. He started off really slow, unlike some I&E solos which just barrage you with notes. I noticed he stole some tricks from I&E and unfortunately not well. Good solo though, especially if he's used to playing straight show style.

Off topic, there's two threads with this video in it. lol. Kinda weird cause I literally watched this video minutes ago, but it's for two totally different things.

Now on to topic.
Honestly, it wasn't too bad. Some of the same old tricks you usually see, but atleast he's trying to whoo the crowd. And you can't really say he stole those tricks from I&E; You can't steal tricks that were used in Corps shows to start with. Otherwise not bad.

I love that trick at the end. I'm the only person I still know that knows how to do it. I learned it at a band camp and the kid that made it was getting mad that his friend was showing other people. There's a lot of sick variations to it too.

Its pretty good, but doesn't really seem like a full solo. If you watch it really it seems like he took a bunch of 2-6 bar phrases and put them one after another without any real transition.
