i woke up saturday morning and my wrist was feeling funny, but we had regionals so i played before we left, 4 hours to get there, there, 4 hours home, and today it hurts even worse. i cant really pick up things, or bend it, or do anythjing without it hurting, i think its tendonitis or caarpal tunnel or something. but what should i do

I would rest a few days to avoid any further irritation or damage and apply ice or cold pack. If the pain continues, you should probably see a specialist.

I had that happen before from playing. It lasted about 3 days but I could not play for a week. It was like I lost all strength, like I could pick up stuff but it would hurt really bad. If after a week of this you should deifntly see a doctor.

There is some creamy stuff you can put on it to loosen up the muscles, but you'll know when theat wears off.

even if it's feeling better now, don't push it too much or you can damage yourself even worse..

you should try and stretch out your arm and tendents. a few stretches i like to do is bend my fingers back till you feel the pull. then do the opposite. push down on the top of your hand right above the palm. and a good one is. to put your hand straight out as if you were to shake a hand. then fold your thumb in. and wrap your fingers around it. then move your hand downword. ehh. sorry if you dont understand.

Definately get this checked out, I've spent everyday for the last 3 or so years with some pain in my wrist.
Make time before your ensemble rehearsal to gently stretch and play some low intensity notes (if you're warmup book doesn't start slow).

I just had this problem on Monday which happened to be the first day of drum camp. It was in my left wrist. It got really bad yesterday, and I almost had to drop out entirely for a while. I even had the whole one tear drop in one eye thing going, but that might have been because of the wind Anyways, I played lighter on the head and was very careful with my accents and now I feel much better.

I think I'll start stretching before warm-ups now.

You didn't stretch? Are you insane? You damn well better stretch each and everytime you pick up those sticks. Make it a subconcious habit. it'll save you a lot of pain.

I've hacked on a pad without stretching, and the feeling I get in my arms and fingers is horrible. It feels like every tendon swells up and becomes really stiff. There's also this uncomfortable tingling all along my forearms. I now stretch every time I drum.

By the way, you seem to have double posted by accident. Make sure you delete it before a Mod sees it.
