Over the course of the summer, I have gone through a few personal problems (don't need to be mentioned), which I have either put past me, or will by the time my students are ready for camp in a couple weeks. The director I work for and the rest of the staff have about half an idea about what went on, but they're okay with me returning. My question to all the experienced instructors on the board:
Have you found that trying personal experiences make you a better instructor? Also, I'm a little bit worried about getting back in front of the line and having rumours flying around within the band, so should I tell the band, or at least my line, too? Or wait to hear something before I set anything straight?
I sincerely appreciate any insight you might be able to give to me and anyone else who may have an issue like this later on.
Jon
