I'm conducting two more clinics before we set anything, but right now we're looking at-

4 snares
2-3 quads
5 bass
4 plates
5 pit

I'm not at all happy about the pit numbers, but the battery has grown AND will be better than last year in all but one section- you have to dig that.

4 snares (hopefully)
2 tenors (myself and another; only have two sets of tenors, with a third in need of being assembled)
5 bass
? cymbals
? pit

Unfortunately we have no upcoming freshmen from the middle school who are good enough to make the line (except maybe cymbals), so our plan revolves around getting some of our front ensemble people acquainted with bass drums and putting people from the middle school percussion ensemble on the front ensemble. This is similar to what we did last year, which worked to our advantage when indoor concert percussion ensemble started. Hopefully everything will work.

The front ensemble number is just an estimate, depending on how many kids come in after our initial camp. No tenors due to a stubborn student teacher for an instructor. Some change from a mid-90's Cavalier* snare, huh?

Yeah, the two bass guitars came from a kid that used to play tuba and a kid that used to play clarinet. And then the guitarist used to play tuba, too, quit for a year & then came back. And our piano kid is a blind guy that usually just does concert season, but really wanted to get in on marching season, and that's the safest way for him to be a part of the band.

Our numbers have changed. We have kids coming in from two main middle schools, and one of the teachers decided not to send us names of the kids that were joining the drumline. So, all the kids from one school pretty much got first dibs on drums and now we have to train more kids. I don't know how many we're getting yet. The next camp isn't until the week of July 10. So whatever I put above, it's most likely going to change some, especially in the pit.

Alright...Assuming that everyone who signed up for percussion stays and no one backs out, we should be fielding:
4 snares
2-3 tenors (depending if we can get a freshman with enough chops to field the third set)
4 basses
3 cymbals (the first time my line will field cymbals)

Then 12-13 in the pit, with 2 racks (maybe 3? Not sure yet), most likely timps, and keyboards (3 vibes, 2 marimbas, 2 xylos, bells, chimes, I believe)
