Being a Texan my first natural pick will be UNT, but if not then it'll be University of Houston or Sam Houston State. My band director was an all-state french horn player will offers left and right, yet he still chose U of H because of the music program. Werd.

I'll be attending SHSU (Sam Houston) in the fall of 2007 as a music education major with an emphasis in percussion. I have been reccomended for scholarships, although those letters have not yet been sent out. By the way, if you've never been to the Sam Houston campus, go look. It's pretty cool.

I posted a while back about going to either Southern Miss or UCF. I am now going to Southern Miss on a music scholarship. I'm pretty excited to be working under Dr. Wooton.

University of Utah, but i wish it was competitive. I think Utah Valley University (formerly Utah Valley State College) is doing a winterline for the first time in 2008, so that's where i'll get my competitive appetite whetted.

University of Utah? I'm the son of an alumnus; they have a fantastic engineering school.
I'm going to NC State University this fall, where I'm not doing marching band. Engineering scholarships are generally only given to sophomores, since it's expected that a good many Chem-E students will change majors, so I've gotta have stellar grades my first year. College bands (especially the one at NCSU) don't have the demand for excellence that I'm used to, and I'm afraid I'd be spending too much time getting frustrated while I should be studying.
I may consider marching my sophomore year, hopefully after getting some DCI experience.

I wanted to try out for RCC after I graduate but I don't want to actually take classes there.

that defeats the point of even being in a college line.

What is the point then? I just want to play with a group of great players but I don't really care about the college itself.

It depends on where I go...I'm aiming for UC Berkeley, so if I get in then I'll try out for the Cal Drumline. Same with UCLA, USC, and other schools with lines. If I don't, then I'll stick with corps since I'm not going to major in music anyway. But I'll do percussion if where I go has a Wind Esemble/Concert Band.

Morehead is a definite for people in my area. But, for me, i don't really plan to go there. I really want to go to Berklee in Boston MA. It's a good school for people who pursuit in stringed instruments.
