my most embarissing moment....hmmm. got it.before a parade i was biking with some friends and i fell pretty hard and hurt my knee. the bad part was every once in a while my knee like gave out and i would fall. i decided to go to the parade anyway thinkin my knee would be ok. so im marching in the parade n since in the section leader, im the first person on the left side. so anyway, we're stopped in front of the judges stand to do our formation n stuff n the percussion judge is right in front of me looking at the section. then, as luck would have it, my knee gave out n i went to the ground. it was pretty bad. lol

well...i'm VERY clumsy, even without my drum. so the last day of band camp, we were keeping the drums in the auditorim. So i'm walking back into the auditorium with my bass, not watching whre i'm going, everyone is sitting on the stage so there's a small aisle where ican get through...and someone left a sex case in the middle of it. I tripped over the case and went into a stack of cases...bruised my ribs and my back and had huge bruises on my legs from the harness poles. in front of 90% of the band...

Freshmen year, I marched top bass and it was our first home football game. We had just had our home show the week before and for some reason the people painting the field decided to put numbers on every 5 yards for the show. Well the next week at the football game i had failed to notice that there were no more numbers every 5 yards. During the opener the we had one drill set where i was near the front sideline on the 45 and the rest of the basses were behind me on the 45. Well going into this set I just caught the 4 of the 45 out of the corner of my eye. So i went to it. The next move was a push back field before the brass solo. Well it just so happens that 4 was for the 40. I ended up marching right into some trombone players right as they began the solo. Luckily the colorguard had a terrible show and got reamed out instead of me.

Well I've got a recent one. A few weeks ago we had our rehersal at the Guitar Center as a fundraiser to earn some money for new drums. Were just out there drumming and people give us money as they drive by, and they stop and watch and what not. Well we had just learned a new exercise and I was suposed to play the tap off for it. (I'm on top bass) well everything was going fine, we played it for awhile and took a short break, and when we came back to it and I went to play the tap off I kept getting it wrong. I kept playing the first part of the exercise instead of the tap off rhythem. After about 4 or 5 trys the instructor just did a basic click off. I was emabrassed because 2 seconds later I remembered the rhythem again, but I was mostly just mad at my self for forgetting it in the first place. Stupid brain farts!

My most embarrasing moment was during our last football game of the season we did "appreciation basics" and everyone had to march onto the field to play the national anthem in a different marching instrument so they would realize how hard some things are to control, or how hard the technique and such..well i was trying to put on bass 2 and switch with him, but being the bass noob I am I had a really hard time getting the harness on the drum and by the time I got my uni over the harness, they band was marching on the field. My band director who marched 3 years with Cavies and 2 with Cadets come over and starts flippin out on me! He was swearing and make threats to kick me out of band, so I just ran onto the field and play the show..in the end he apoligized and admitted it was hilarious, but it was pretty embarrasing to be yelled at by the bd for not wearing the correct instrument

my most embarassing moment, was probly at a winter drumline competition this year, i had a solo on tenors. The way the drill was during my solo was a huge arc with the drumline spanning the entire back side of the floor with me in the midde of it so i was very noticable. well at the end of my solo i decided to do a stick flip, i had done it a thousand times perfectly at rehersal so i decided to throw it in that show. well i dropped it. right in the middle of the floor with no one around me, i didnt do that again until much later when i built up the confidence to try it again

This didn't happen to me but I took part in doing it. One of the old bass drummers was a little slow in the head so we always messed with him. We pantsed him while he was marching one time and he just stood there for a few minutes with his bass drum till our section leader stopped laughing and told him to pull them up. Then we told him to bring black pants when we were supposed to bring white. He thought the whole drumline was wearing black. We took a trip to Memphis, Tennessee and told him we were in Memphis, Indiana. It was the greatest year ever. =]

my two have to be:

once at my highschool we were walking down the steps in the school from the band room and my director was asking me something and i tripped down the last 2 steps onto my knees and slammed the 2 drum of my tenors on the ground

and one time at ravens band practice in dead silence while we were getting directions from our drill instructor and i pulled my tenors up and they made the loudest screech and everyone looked at me

well there was a football game a few years ago when our band was really small and our band director didnt trust the completely new drumline with marching so we stayed in the pit. well, one kid told us we didnt need our bass drum harnesses, and we figured that was fine, out drums were on stands in the pit. so it was an away game and we didnt have harnesses, but the director wanted us to still march the band onto the field, so we didnt do that but marching to and from the stands and the bus and such, we had to carry out drums then our director told us to play the cadence, although i think we did pretty good playing with one had while carrying bass drums, haha

then completly un-drum related, we were on the buses at championships 2 years ago and one senior saw a golden opportunity to pants me, unfortunately i was wearing boxers that were a bit big on me and they came down too, i was lucky to have an empty seat next to me and i quicky jumped out of the asile. then this year, another girl saw the same opportunity and did a repeat of the same, boxers and all, this time no empty seat, the girl saw my junk, quite embarrasing

Hahahahahah! I remember that man! I was playing tenors and I didn't know the parts, so I was watching Brian (End Tenor) and just air druming and trying to mimic the crossovers. That was so much fun!
