well this did not happen to me, and its more gross then it is embarrasing, we had an away game that was about 2 hrs away, and one of our basses had to "tinkle" really bad, so about an hour and a half into the trip, he couldnt take it any longer, and "tinkled" in a wendys cup in the bak of the bus, and ther was no wher to throw it away, so he just flung it out the window into some bushes

i would actually say that rehearsal mistakes are less embarrassing since you know the people, but it sucks a lot more since the people never stop talking about it.
On the other hand, if you make a mistake in front of a really big crowd(disneyland), its more embarrassing.

these are just my opinions though

haha, no worries man. We will never let her forget it! everytime we go to march we say "are you sure you are up to this? wont be taking a break in the middle of the show like last time will you?" and she gets all mad... >_> but its all out of good fun haha

So this one competition, my drumline was looking for a place to warmup. And we found this sweet 'theatre' type place down a hill. It was rugged and wasnt used in a while. PLus it was outside with all these stone seats. So i started down a grass hill and slipped right on my back while i was carrying bass 4. It was no fun after it smashed into my mouth.

First competition on snare. And my hat is hanging off my nose. Sidways. Had to reach up and fix it... looked awful. Kept jerking my head. Then I dropped a rute during a rehearsal and bent out of the from to pick it up. Got a lot of crap about that one.
During band camp though, I desperately had to use the bathroom due to lady problems and missed out on learning some drill. That was embarassing.
And let's not talk about the many times my shoes were stolen or misplaced or forgotten. And the time I forgot my gauntlets.

haha....i played tenors for the high school band in 7th grade so I was considered the B***H of the line and the section leader dove behind me and pulled down my pants and I had on blue boxers and the WHOLE band saw it. My name is Joe Green and for about 2 years, everyone called me Joe Blue because I had on blue flannel boxers

this year, i was transporting drums(because i got in trouble, cough cough) and as i was carrying a set of tenors(not mine, thank gawd)i bumped into a music stand. i don't know why, but i forgot about the drums and quickly went for the falling music stand. i currently owe my school a new 8200 yamaha spock drum. i didn't know that a drum could break so quietly. (i felt so dumb, that i appologised to the drum god. then i felt dumber)

Last year... I was moving brand new $4,000 marimba, hit a pot hole, and went flying. The marimba neatly rolled over (it had the cover on) and I was on my back, and I remember getting up, looking at the thing, and dropping the F bonb as loud as I could.

Then I looked from band director to band director, to the band, which were suddenly in perfect attention with every look imaginable on their faces. The "Oh God" look, the "That's his baby" look, the "glad it wasn't me" look, and my personal favorite "Oh sh*t he's gonna kill us all" look.

I thought I was dead.

We got the thing back on the trailer, to put back up to the band room, on the way up, the BD casually turns to me and says, "I'm so proud of myself... for not yelling..."

Yeah

I had the same exact problem but with a brand new set of chimes. We were moving them out of the trailor at an indoor compition and we have a HUGE truck. well I was taking it down the ram and it tipped. Fell off the ramp and thank god nothing really happend but one chime fell off but there for a minute I though I was dead!

i remember one time this year, we were doing our show for pre uil, and we had to do a visual, but we barely learned the visual the day before, so when it was time to do it, 4 out of the 5 snares forgot the visual, and when we were leaving the field, we did the "band, left phase" thing, and 2 people turned the other way, making a lot of people laugh.

I have a decent two.
Both on my 1 year of tenors...

Anyways, I was the only quint, there was a performance at our high school for a drill-team review or something, and we did a cadence that uses the quints as melody. Anyways, it repeats over 3X, and I dropped my stick on the 2nd phrase. Just as my luck would have it, I didn't bother to put in another mallet that time. Well, it's somewhat simple, and I finished it off 1 handed, but then I had to bend down to pick it back up between cadences.

Anyways, the next... we put a snare solo in place of a drum solo for one of our competitions. When practicing it, the entire band but me got it (there were only 2 of us in drumline that year). I messed up about 5X in a row, too concentraited on my music. Each time, the entire band got mad at me, because we had to go back to the beginning.
