You could be right about the headhunters being around for a while. American Drum has a new model and I can't remember the name.

Try the jingle sticks, they sound pretty sweet, our line played Ginasterical last year and they used all sorts of stuff that sounds neat. Also try the new blades from Vic Firth, that would be something innovative.

I have two sets of Tenor mallets.. I use Vega's and regular cookie mallets. I found that the Vega's are awesome for overall sound and maneuvarability, but the cookie's are great for scrapes and glamour moves. I guess the right song calls for the right sticks.

I mostly use cookies (not the black ones, and they never crack). But as far as sticks go, I like using DC-10's. They have to be replaced <s>snugglebunny</s> [color:"red"]a lot</font>, but I feel like I have <s>snugglebunny</s> [color:"red"]a lot</font> more control of 'em. Also, the way I where my tenors, DC-10's make it easier to do guaks. This year, I want something like the DC-10's, but with some sort of nylon tip.

i used to use cookies, but after breaking 2 pairs i decided that hollow aluminum was not working with me. i dug out my hardimon corpsmasters from my snare years and haven't broken one of them yet. i've had to keep retaping them, though. i used those last year, but i have a couple of pairs of the Vega sticks for this year. those things have great rebound, if you can control them. i might try to get some cookies this year, and maybe a pair of soft-headed tenor mallets if the show needs them, but my main standby is the corpsmasters because i can always steal some from the snares if i have to. <img src="/threads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I used to be a huge fan of the Vic Firth MT1's, it seems like I am going with the latest trend though, sticks. I use the MS2's now.

As of right now, I have a pair of Vic Firth MT4A, IMT10, MTT, Vega Tenor Sticks, and Vega Tenor Swizzle sticks. So far, from what I've played on, the best tenor mallets are the Vic Firth MTT. The best tenor sticks are the Vega sticks. The swizzle sticks are a tad bit harder to play with, but if you are looking for that extra "thing" to add to the show, the swizzle sticks will do the trick.

My tenor line (which is me for now) uses and will be using the Vic Firth MT1A-S model. They are a little thicker than the normal MT1A's. I'm a heavier player so I prefer them for their durability.
